Sun Dogs and all Kinds of Subjects

Did you all see those Sun Dogs Yesterday ?WOW fantastically beautiful, just one more of Gods creations for us to admire. I looked up on line to read more about them , it was very interesting. I won't explain it here as you can look in up for yourselves.
Well I am finally off my sick bed, I had a bad cold and cough. I decided to stay close to my bed for 4 days and medicate myself and stayed home to get well, and not spread it around, it paid off. I am well and energetic, went to work this morning and now home and feeling all ok. I hate it when other have this cold and like to spread it around to others saying they don't have time to lay low. At my age I have to stop and get well. I think that is why the sickness stays with people longer they don't stop to rest and take time to heal. I hear people saying this cold has dragged on for ever. Maybe they are so worn out they cannot get well. I know I slept a good part of each day. Even yesterday I got up about 8AM, by 10 AM I was back to bed and slept till 2 PM. I did manage to clean my front room and change the furniture around to try and make room for the Christmas tree. I have a small front room window and do not like the tree in front of it as it just blocks out the sun we do have in the month of Dec. Still trying to decide where to put it.
Today I will get sign my home made Christmas cards. I have cut my list very short and will only send to sister and brothers and kids.
I think it would be fun to have a cookie exchange with my family and they could all come over and decorate my tree for me and exchange cookies at the same time.

Good day to quilt

It is Friday , Mac went to camp to cook breakfast. He is back home now and will be leaving to go to Craven to barbeque 600 HB for a basketball tornament. This is volinteer work for him. He pulled out his snow pants as it is cold today and the barbeque is outside . First thing he did when arriving home was to make a batch of ginger snaps mmmmm smells good.
I slept in this morning as I could not sleep last night even with a sleeping pill. so I read quilting books. I am trying to plan my next quilt, it will be a crazy quilt. There is even patterns for crazy quilts. I have decided to do my old fashion thing and ad lib it and use no pattern and just lay material down on a base and go for it. Every sq. will be different. I will try and start the centre piece with the same colour and design. therefore it will have some kind ot continuity. I also want to embrodery the seams on each patch. This quilt will be for a camping quilt for us. hoping to complete it by the time we leave forFlorida. So I better get down to the sewing room and continue to sew on it. I have pressed out most of my material scraps. I am also working on a Christmas quilt. Got the first square done. It may be ready by next Christmas.
I really have got into quilt making. My twin sister will be picking out material in Florida and working on quilts. Peggy will show me some of the things she is learning to do in a quilting class and I will show her how to put a quilt together via spray gluing it, getting it ready to machine quilt it . The guild I am in, tell me it stays more solid and does not move by gluing it , better then pinning it. I learn new things every day. Peggy pays someone $150.00 to quilt her quilts.
So she wants to learn how to do it her self.
I better get out of my PJ's and get to work. I just wishI could have a house keeper to clean my house while I quilt.

If My Body Were a Car

IF MY BODY WERE A CAR-------------

IF MY BODY WERE A CARIf my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull, but that's not the worst of it. My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close. My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather. My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins. It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently. But here's the worst of it --Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter.....either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires! __._,_.___

Hooked on Soaps

I too use to get so hooked on soaps., never missing a day of watching , my life revolved around them. When we lived in Surrey BC. mine was the Edge of Night. One day as I was ironing in front of the TV, the Lord spoke to me, it was so vivid. he said you don't need to watch this. That is over 40 yrs ago.I don't know if edge of night is still going. I must admit when my kids were in high school I would watch it with high guilt, on occassions. But the interest was not there. But I have got involved so called soaps Like Bonanza, Little house on the Prairie, Dallas. Now I am hooked on all the renovating shows, I guess one could call Dr. Phil and Opera and all those talk shows soaps, or any thing else we watch. soaps. My Mom it was radio show Dr Pepper Young Family, Ma Perkins, The shadow, whose behind the Green Door , The Whisler. I do notice my interest is fading out on alot of these programs, What is God saying to me.? The question I ask myself do I spend just as much time in the word of God. The answer is shamefully NO. I guess that is why I have become more involved in creative hands on things. I am in the world of quilting once again. I still need to focus on God and his word more. This is my weakness.

New Threads

I have given my blog new tire threads, so I am set fo alot of action here at my blog.Mac and I went out in the pouring rain this morning, to do something differetnt. Even though we cannot afford it we went looking at RV trailers to live in permanently. This means we would have to live were it is alot warmer. Also do we really want to sell oir home. What would be cheaper. This would all have to be considered. Do I really want to live in a small RV for the rest of my life. It would be less house work. No washer or dryer, less room for crafts. This all would have to be considered. and prayed about .

I Did My Research

The freelancing company that I was researching, sent me e mails of a couple of people, who have taken this course.
I sent each of them a e mail asking all kinds of information, also researched to find they are not on the spam list. This company has been passed by the Better Businesss Bureau Of America .
I recieved an e mail back from both of them; who live in different places in the States.
Both of them gave me their positive feed back, how they both have made money after taking this course and opened their own copywrite business and doing well finacially. They both said they would recommend this company to any body. They both told me that this company have treated them very well., helping them in every way.
I also recieved an email from the company to tell me what type of material is in the course. It looks like a lot of books and learning tools.

Crazy Notions

Here I am a Senior and always looking for ways to earn a we bit more money. So we can go south for the winter.
Now this is very scarry thing for me as I figure out our finances.

Twenty years ago we were forced to go bankrupt. The lumber market came to abrupt stop. We were in the wholesale meat business catering to restrants, lumber mills , railroads etc. It had a rippling effect when restraunts went bankrupt. Railroads stop hauling lumber and anything connected to the lumber buisness. We had no more customers. So in turn we had to claim bankrupt. We lost our home, business and car.WARNING NEVER INVEST YOUR HOME IN A BUSINESS. Even though we were in our fifties, we still had our health and energy. We had to start over. Find a job. Save money for a down payment on a house. We paid on it for 12 years. In the little pulp and Paper town of Mackenzie. Would you believe the year we decided to retire the pulp and paper, and logging mills shut down, The forestery were in trouble again. realistate was nil. We moved to Saskatchewan to retire. Our house did not sell for over a year: therefore two payment had to be paid out, one on our house in Mackenzie.plus renting the one we lived in. We were not getting a seniors pentions. Mac retired a year early. Only a pention from Mac's work.
How were we going to live on this income of $1200. per month if Mac did not get a job. Now who wants to hire a 64 yr old man.

God provided, finally we got a renter in out house, and Mac got a job.
Our house sold after a year. We took a large cut. We managed to put a small down payment on our house. Twenty -five more years of morgage.
By now as a senior it expected by that we should have a house paid for.

That is why I am always looking to earn more money.
But I am getting so tired of this physical labour of doing the janitor work at the church.
I want to quite. In order to make payments on this house I will have to work till I am 95yrs.
Now don't feel sorry for me. We have made some bad decisions and mis managed our money. So here we sit wanting to travel south where it is warmer for the winter.
We have decided to sell our house and rent a seniors complex, maybe in May or June.
I visited a lady who lives,in one of the apartments.
As I was walking down the very long hall way. I was thinking. I am not this old. Do I really want to live in this complex of seniors. The ones I saw in the hallways looked ninety years old, I saw a few walkers and wheel chairs at the doors of some these residents. I saw puzzles and games on tables. Meals are served to those who want them and cannot cook for them selves. Would I be happy here? I'm I too young for this. The positive is- Now this may be cheaper to live in then owning a home, with taxes, power, gas, water, repairs and up keep to house. on top of the morgage. The power and gas would be covered under the rent , so that would be cheaper. You pay only a percentage of what your income is. Maybe we are making too much money and can't get into them. That is the next possibility. But if we gave up the janitor work that may do it .
Well back to making more money. All kinds of things come accross on the internet. To earn more money. I generally ignore all of them. Now one has come across, it is a course on how to freelance. That interested me as I like to write. They claim that one can earn more than a doctor lawyer etc. by writng letters for companies and one would get royalties on each letter you wrote. Some have claimed to get thousands of dollars from one letter. So I wrote the company asking for phone numbers of people who have earned this kind of earning . They answered me giving me e mail address of people who have made it. So I wrote each of them a note. My next thought is maybe these are people are on their staff who write back to people like me . So who do you trust?? It does look interesting. We will see. So if I invested money into a course in freelancing I still would be ahead in knowledge, and I could benefit from it in my writing, it may make me a better writer.
My goal is too go south each winter.
